Division 2 Champions

After a narrow 8-7 win against Clonard on Sunday 24th April, our Senior Men’s team have been declared National League Division 2 champions.

Well done to all our senior players and especially our super coach Jim Tracey. Next up is the Senior Cup in University of Limerick from 12th-14th May.

Happy Birthday to a Clontarf SC Legend

Clontarf SC would like to wish Jack Cassidy a happy 90th Birthday. Jack was a member of Clontarf SC in the 1940-50’s. Jack won the Liffey Swim in 1945 and won the Harbour Swim in 1950 and 1952. Jack also was an Irish International Waterpolo player and a member of Clontarf’s Senior Cup winning team in the 40s. On behalf of Clontarf SC, all our members and I am sure from the wider waterpolo community in Ireland, happy 90th birthday to a legend of Clontarf SC Jack Cassidy.

Clontarf Waterpolo Development Tournament 2017

This weekend on the 21st and 22nd of January Clontarf will host our annual tournament for players born in 2004 or after in Guinness Pool, Dublin. We have held this Tournament since 2012. We have 17 teams entered this year so it will be an action packed weekend with 4 trophies up for grabs. We have teams from all over Ireland and Sheffield visiting from England. Tournament schedule is 9am-11am then 4pm-9pm Saturday, 10am-7pm on Sunday. Come along and support all the teams. Sheffield won the premier final last year on penalties in a trilling match against Clontarf. With Guinness winning the Plate 1 Cup and North Dublin winning the Plate 2 Cup. Clontarf SC Christmas Day Swim 2016

We are holding our annual Christmas day swim at Men’s Shelter (2nd Shelter) along the Bull Wall at Dollymount. Swimming at 11am sharp. All Welcome. Happy Christmas and Happy New Year from Clontarf Swimming and Waterpolo Club.

Guinness Pool is Closed this weekend 17th and 18th December. No matches or training this weekend. Men’s Senior Training resumes on 4th Jan, NAC 6th Jan and Sunday in Guinness 8th Jan. Leinster Matches resume on the 7th Jan. Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone see you in January.

Brian Nolan from Clontarf SC fastest time in the Harbour

Well done to all Swimmers in the 86th Dun Laoghaire Harbour Swim yesterday 21st of August. With Clontarf just missing out on team prize with Dario Fernandez coming in 4th, and then in 6th place a fantastic swim by Brian Nolan with the fastest time of the day in the Men’s race. Pierre Tracey followed home in 16th Place for his first Harbour Swim, followed by Sean Nolan, Martin Reddington, Jorn Langhave, Jim Tracey and Colm Walsh all finishing in the top 100. Congratulations to the winners Josh Reilly from Sandycove in the Men’s race and Yvon McCarthy of Eastern Bay in the Women’s race. North Dublin also had a great swim winning team prize in the Men’s race with Bernard Sweeney 2nd and Gerry Wilkes finishing just behind Brian Nolan in 7th with the second fastest time of the day. Aer Lingus Masters took home the Women’s team prize. Also well done to Ciara Doran for fastest time in the Women’s race. Next Friday 26th August is the Clontarf Swim at the Bull Wall, Men’s Race 6.45pm and Women’s race 7.15pm, presentations in the Pebble Beach, Clontarf.
