No Training in Guinness Swimming Pool this Sunday 25th October 2015 due to Bank Holiday
Leinster Waterpolo now has a website up and running with details of all the upcoming Junior and Senior fixtures and news relating to Leinster Waterpolo. The web address is www.leinsterwaterpolo.org, the Leinster fixtures on our club website now go directly to this site. The first round matches for the U12 (2003) players is in Drogheda on November 7th, and the U14 (2001) teams on the 12th December.
U19 Boys and Girls Teams are playing in the Leinster Cup this Thursday 8th October, Girls team meet in the NAC at 7.40pm and the Boys at 8.10pm.
Last weekend we had three teams participating in the Grads Tournament in Belfast, on Friday night our U12 (2003) team were in action playing 5 matches and winning the tournament in a thrilling final against Clonard. This was another great achievement for this team following on from their U12 Irish Cup win earlier in the year. On the Saturday and Sunday it was the turn of the Boys and Girls 2000 born players, the Boys lost out in a place in the Semi Finals were the Girls got through in the Semi’s loosing out to Donegal Diamonds in another great game finishing 8-7 to Donegal. We would like to thank Joe Connolly and all the other organisers from Grads for another great tournament and we will be back next year. Congratulation to Sandycove Boys in the 2000 tournament winning in the final against Corrib 6-3 and also to St. Vincent’s winning against Donegal Diamonds in the Girls Final.
There will be no training this Sunday 4th October as the Guinness Pool is closed for maintenance
We have a busy week of matches coming up, Thursday 1st October Girls U16 play against Vincent’s, meeting at 7.40pm in the NAC match at 8pm, then later Mens Leinster Div 3 team are also playing Vincent’s, meeting at 9pm match at 9.20pm also in the NAC.
Then on Friday night 2nd October the 2003 U12 team are in Belfast for a mini Tournament, and the 2000 U14 Boys and Girls are in Belfast for the Grads Tournament on the Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October.
To finish the weekend all Senior teams are in action in the NAC on Sunday 4th October with Mens National Division 2 Team playing against Clonard at 10am , Womens Team at 11am against Vincent’s and the Mens National Division 3 team at 3pm against Sandycove. We have been notified that Guinness Swimming Pool will be closed this Sunday 13th September, therefore No Training. Training will resume in Guinness Swimming Pool on the 20th as normal.
Clontarf Swimming and Waterpolo Club extends good luck and best wishes to all our members receiving their Junior Certificate results tomorrow.
The Season is back on and we have a number of Matches this week, Men’s Senior Team is playing Drogheda on Thursday night 10th September, meet in the NAC at 8.10pm in Leinster Division 2. No Boys U16 game on Thursday as this was cancelled. Then we have matches on Sunday 13th September for both the Boys and Girls U16 (1999) players again in the NAC. Both teams have two matches each, Boys to meet at 9.40am and Girls to meet at 11.40am. See website fixtures page for more details.
